חשוב לזכור כי ברפואה הסינית, "בעיות מנטאליות" אינן שונות מהותית מכל פתולוגיה אחרת. אותו חוסר איזון עשוי להתבטא ברמה הפיזית, ברמה המנטאלית, או בשתיהן. גוף ונפש הם שני הצדדים של אותו המטבע, קשורים זה בזה ב"קשר גורדי" כל עוד יש חיים. קשר זה מובע בביטוי הידוע Jing - Shen.

This article confines itself to discussing the classical theories concerning the five Shu-Points, and compares
these theories with the indications of the points that have accumulated over the centuries in a number of classical
clinical manuals. By trying to understand this sometimes difficult theory, we can improve our knowledge
and understanding of the extraordinary phenomena that are the acupuncture points

There is a group of ten points which have come to be known in Western acupuncture circles as ‘Window of
the Sky’ points*, or perhaps more suitably ‘Window of Heaven’ points.
Although taught in certain acupuncture colleges, there is (to the knowledge of the authors) no authoritative written
discussion of them in any English text. Equally, questioning of a number of eminent Chinese acupuncturists
over the years has drawn a blank, indeed several have stated categorically that there is no such grouping, even
when given the names of the points concerned. Clearly if such a group of points does exist as an entity, it is little
known within the classical Chinese tradition

The purpose of this article is to examine those clinical
applications of the luo-connecting points of the ourteen channels that relate directly to their luoconnecting status. Of course each of the points discussed has other important actions and indications which do not
come under the scope of this article. All the indications mentioned in the discussion of the points are translated
from Chinese sources; most are classical indications, whilst a few are modern
